Whoops! Must have lost track of time!

OK, so, I think I've set a new record for time elapsing between postings. You're probably all thinking, "Monica must be, oh, 16 by now!" Well, you're right...well, 16 months, anyway. Time is just flying by.

So, yes, Monica is growing up. She has really started talking now. She says "car, car"", "doggy" and "woof, woof". "Ducky" and "ducky day". "See?", when she's too lazy to say, "Look at that" and "What's this/that?". These are only a few of the many, many words and phrases that she has begun to say regularly and clearly. Oh yea...she also says, "I did that". Which, I'm sure, will soon be followed by, "I didn't do that"!

Monica is now sleeping "better". That is, she is going down for 2 hour naps (sometimes a bit shorter/longer) each afternoon. She is sleeping without me, in her own "Winnie the Pooh" toddler bed. We started out sharing the bed (It was about as comfy as it sounds). Now, I lie on the floor, on a foam mattress, until she falls asleep. At night, though, we are still struggling. She starts out "ok" (goes, about 2 hours) without me, but then she starts having crying (which turn into screaming) fits, and I end up having to take my spot on the floor, again. I then spend the night re-tucking her in, every 1 to 2 hours throughout the night. Needless to say, I am VERY tired, but I consider her improved napping during the day and the fact that she is, technically, "sleeping on her own" in her own bed, a huge success. I am very proud of the work she has done.

As for me, I started taking 2 home study courses (accounting and *yawn* economics) through SIAST, in January. I just completed my first batch of assignments. In 2 weeks time, I have exams to look forward to, but for now I'm just enjoying the feeling of completing those assignments. The scary thing is I am currently finding these courses fairly easy. I'm wondering what I'm missing. I usually don't catch on that quickly to book work. I learn much better by just doing. Oh well, I guess I'll know for sure if I'm getting it when I get my marks back!

Other than that, Monica and I are doing well. This winter has been great for weather. We've been able to get out and about, a lot. Monica has had a few excursions in the tobbaggon and has, pretty much, just enjoyed going outside without having to get bundled up in her snowsuit every time. Still, I'm looking forward to spring and summer.

I will be posting new pictures, but I'm not sure if that will be today or another day. Depends on how long Monica sleeps for and how easily I can do it. Keep checking and you will eventually get a surprise!

Take care, everyone!

I think the fact that you finally blogged means the Lord is coming soon...well we know, he IS coming soon...but when...we don't know, which explains why He is the Lord, and I am just me...anyhow...where was I?

Oh yeah, well good to hear about your schooling and sledding(well Monica's sledding experience)...and the fact that she is sleeping better is great! It can only get better, right? No, I am asking you a question...right, it can only get better? What's that? Oh for a second I couldn't hear your reply, as I had a piece of cotton stuck in my ear...why it was there, I don't know...actually I did have cotton in my ear, but that was about 17 years ago when I was a 17 year old (and naive I was) camp counsellor(go Kenosee Lake Bible Camp...the protestant one...see there were two of them side by side...the Catholic one and the Protestant one...just had to clear that one up for you...yep, the Catholic one is where Sandi was at...anyways I digress...but when I was 17 I got hit in the pool by someone else...in the ear and I almost threw up, in the pool...thank goodness I didn't...but that night the nurse put some medicine on a cotton ball and put it in my ear...and I had to sleep on that ear to drain any infection...and the next morning there was blood on my pillow...but thankfully my hearing came back and everything is fine...

Oh great! Now I have to scroll back up to see what I had previously written and try to get myself back on track...jus a sec...oh, yeah..."It can only get better, right?" There, I can hear you reply..."Geez"...wasn't the response I was expecting but oh well...

Oh my sister Cori had her 21st birthday yesterday, I called her and wished and sang her a Happy Birthday and she put me on speaker phone for the rest of the family to hear...I was a bit shy and hesitant and nervous but everything is fine...she was happy and I am happy...

    Ciao,
    Cam

You have snow??? Weird. What's it like? Yesterday it was about +10 in Edmonton. It's been a crazy "winter". It's just brown everywhere. Though it is supposed to get cold now. Silly winter temperatures. I was enjoying not scraping my car for a while.
