OK, so it's not summer, yet.

Sorry, if I got anyone's hopes up in my last blog talking about summer possibly arriving. I know it was very silly of me to think that with the end of May, summer could arrive. I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience. And with that said, what is up with this weather??!!

Well, I have nothing much to report for this week. It's not that we haven't been busy, but it just hasn't been a week of news to write on a blog about. We did have a nice afternoon with Cameron on Tuesday. We went out for a coffee at the new Atlantis Coffee downtown, then we walked through Victoria Park and headed into Cornwall Centre when big, looming, black clouds appeared to be heading in our direction. When we did get back to the car, I had a thoughtfully placed parking ticket. We want to thank Cameron for putting 45 minutes on the meter for a 2 hour trip. What would we have done without him? We'll miss you when you go. No, really, we'll miss you...:)

Yesterday, we took a drive out to Forget, a place I have never been before, with Sandi. We went out there to attend a friend's father's funeral. It was a very nice service, with wonderful music and it was nice to see some friends that we haven't seen in quite awhile. Too bad we always seem to meet up with people at occasions such as these, but it's nice to be able to be there for eachother. And, on a lighter note, Monica came along, of course, and was a perfect little angel during the whole mass, AND (and this NEVER happens), she even had a snooze through some of the luncheon following the service. Good girl!

Which brings us to today. I just booked myself in to sit an exam at SIAST to improve my status on the waiting list for the Medical Radiologist program. Yes, I am toying with the idea of going back to school. It wasn't enough for me to just take nursing, dental assisting and pre-dentistry. I've always thought about going further into radiology. My favorite part of being a CDA has always been the radiography, which I don't get to do much of in my present position. So, hopefully with all the biology, physics and radiography courses I already have under my belt, taking this exam will push me further ahead. The waiting list, at present, is 10 years. This may bump me closer by a couple years, maybe even 5. Once I know where I'm at, I can look at taking a few courses by correspondence to make my actual class time shorter in the end. Still with me?

Well, Monica and I need to leave the house shortly, so I'll cut this short(er). I do have more recent pictures to post, but I seem to have done something to the camera rendering it useless. Can Grampa fix it, I wonder?

Have a great day everyone!

-Denise & Monica

*update: I have been informed by my mom that I have, in fact, been to Forget before. Well over 20 years ago, but surprise, surprise I have been there before.

Denise, I actually put a DOLLAR in the metre, as we were only to be gone for an hour...just to the coffee place...came back to the car...DUH...and neither of us bothered to check the metre....and then went for a walk thru Victoria Park, and Denise bumped into her friend Lynette...no, not Lynette Jennings...just Lynette, who sings with Denise. Then we go to Cornwall Centre, and go into Sears to go upstairs by elevator as Monica is in the stroller...and some woman jumps into the elevator and closes the door while we were waiting to get in. I had thought there might have not been any room for us, but rest assured, when the elevator came back for us, there would have been plenty of room for the 4 of us. It was a bit unnerving.

Then yesterday in Forget, I was in the backseat with Moncia playing with Bunny Bear(Mirror), Timmy(or Tabitha) Turtle and Winnifred the Pooh...I like to give names to various toys. It brings the child out in me. Monica enjoyed it until she got a bit tired...(I like how I phrase that word...tired...as opposed to saying...uh...tired...anyways). So I tried to pretend I wasn't there, and had to be quiet, which wasn't easy. I kinda wish I had some duct tape...for me...to keep me quiet. I even said that out to Denise and Sandi who were in the front seats. Thankfully, Monica did fall asleep for about an hour or so...

Then at the funeral home, Denise and I go up in line, and a whole bunch of people cut in...we were like the queen, we were not amused. So I told some funny stories, sang bits of songs...even Denise sang the BINGO song. We talked of Puff the Magic Dragon, Pete's Dragon(where these Dragon's the SAME dragon? Is what I'd like to know...anyhow), Snuffaluffagus, and that Grey looking Elephant from (sharon lois and brahm), also Rusty the chicken from (Friendly Giant)...all coming from the same land. Anyways, Denise is probably rolling her eyes upon reading this, and remembering...well at least I brought amusement to her while we seemed to wait endlessly in line...anyhow I will end for now...I should be writing this in MY blog...www.cameronlongo.blogspot.com

PS. I was fun to see ya again Denise and Monica...
